The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied it has earmarked its presidential ticket to the southern part of the country for the 2023 elections.

This is as the party said its doors were still open to candidates for the 2023 general election, including the presidency.

It denied releasing any candidate zoning formula on its platform ahead of the scheduled polls.

Secretary of the APC Caretaker Committee, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, made the denial in response to reports that the party has zoned its presidential ticket south.

APC would have zoned the president to the south, the vice president to the north, the senate president to the south, and the senate vice president to the north.

Akpanudoedehe rejected the list, however.

In a statement, the APC secretary said: “Our people should ignore the list. It’s not the Caretaker Committee, it’s not the party.

“This is absolutely not true! Where was it done and on what occasion? This is just a figment of the writer’s imagination. It is completely misleading.”
