Kenneth ‘Zoo’ Petty, Nicki Minaj’s husband, has agreed to a plea deal after failing to register as a sex offender in California and faces 10 years in prison for doing so.

People reports that on Sept. 9, 43-year-old Petty pleaded guilty to a virtual session with the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

His sentencing hearing is set for January 24, 2022, and he could be sentenced to ten years in prison, followed by supervised release for the rest of his life.

In 1995, he was found guilty of attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl in the first degree and sentenced to 18 to 54 months in prison. He is now classified as a level two registered offender in New York, meaning he is at ‘moderate risk’ of recidivism.

Jennifer Hough, his alleged rape victim, sued both Petty and Minaj, 38, last month, alleging that the couple harassed him into recanting her rape charges.

Hough claims Minaj and Petty tried to deny her rape allegation after they started dating in 2015.

Minaj allegedly offered to have a publicist draft a statement recanting her rape allegation during a telephone conversation with Hough.

After the conversation, Hough alleges that persons close to Minaj and Petty offered a relative $500,000 in exchange for recanting her rape complaint.

The lawsuit also alleges that Minaj sent Hough’s childhood friend, Black, to offer her legal advice and give her $20,000 in exchange for having her account revoked.
