Hollywood screen diva Angelina Jolie had an unpleasant experience with disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein and fought her ex-husband Brad Pitt when he came into contact with him.
Jolie made the revelation in a recent interview with the guard when asked about the first time she “felt disrespected enough in the industry to tell someone to fuck off”.
Her response was, “Um… well, no surprise, Harvey Weinstein. I worked with him when I was young,” implying that he wanted to molest her, but she successfully evaded him.
“When you take yourself out of the room, you think he tried but didn’t, right? The truth is that the attempt and the experience of the attempt is an attack,” she said.
Jolie shed more light on the experience, adding: “It was more than a pass, it was something I had to escape from. I stayed away and warned people about him.
“I remember telling Jonny, my first husband, who was great at it, to tell the word to other guys – don’t let girls go alone with him. I was asked to do the kite, but I said no because he was involved. I never worked or worked with him again. It was hard for me back then Brad did.”
Brad Pitt played the lead role in the movie unglorious bastards (2009) which was produced by The Weinstein Company and also featured another of his movies, Kill them gently, distributed by the entertainment outfit.
Of Brad working with Weinstein, the actress said, “We fought about it. Of course it hurt” and said her former husband continued to work with Weinstein even after he became aware of her experience.
It’s important to note that Jolie’s revelation captures events that took place years before the women of the #MeToo movement came forward and told the world what they had experienced at the hands of Weinstein.
