Popular actor of Yoruba movies, Murphy Afolabi, is dead. He died on Sunday morning. This is coming less than 24 hours after the news filtered out about the death of a popular Nollywood actor, Saint Obi.
No details yet about the circumstances surrounding Afolabi’s death, however, a colleague of the deceased in the Yoruba subsector of the Nollywood, Tunde Ola-Yusuf, has confirmed the sad news.
Ola-Yusuf, a well-known actor, director and producer, took to his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon to mourn Afolabi.
He wrote: “REST IN PEACE…
“May God give the family and close associates the fortitude to bear the loss.“Good night Muphy Afolabi.”
The Yoruba movie star is said to have fallen in his bathroom and hit his head on the floor leading to his death.His death is coming a week after he celebrated his 49th birthday on May 5.
