Nigerian police, Ogun State Command, has ordered up-and-coming singer Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, to report to the nearest police station, via a video clip circulating on social media in which he organized some youths to kill a young man in to hit each other.

In a statement from the command’s spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Monday, police said the incident happened somewhere in the state about two days ago.

Oyeyemi explained that the young man suffered physical injuries as a result of the beating.

The PPRO described the act as barbaric, unruly and inappropriate for Okikiola, who was supposed to be a role model for the young people.

The statement reads: “Ogun State Police Command’s attention has been drawn to a music video circulating on social media where a popular hip-hop musician, Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, the Zazu crooner, staged some youths to meet a young man. to beat him up and cause him bodily harm.

“The incident is said to have taken place somewhere in Ogun state about two days ago. Such unruly and violent behavior is not only barbaric, but also inappropriate for someone who should be a role model for the young and therefore should not be tolerated.

“In view of this, the Command is using this medium to advise Okikiola Habeeb aka Portable to report to the nearest police station in Ogun State, failing which his arrest will be ordered.

“Portable’s blatant display of impunity in the viral video is reprehensible and if left unchecked it will send the wrong signal to the young people who look up to him as a role model.

“Jungle justice has no place in our laws and whoever started it should feel the weight of the law, regardless of the status of such a person.”
