The Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expelled the interim chairman of the party of Yola South Local Government Area, Adamawa State, Sulaiman Adamu.
His removal from the party is effective immediately.
This was stated in a statement titled “APC expels Yola South LGA chairman, Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu,” signed by the party’s national secretary, Senator John Akpanudoede, in Abuja on Thursday.
He explained that the decision was part of the resolutions reached at the 16th meeting of the CECPC to be held at the party’s national secretariat, Buhari House in Abuja, on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
Akpanudoedehe said: “The CECPC received and deliberated on the report of its violations and recommendations from the 7-member Disciplinary Committee established by the Adamawa State Working Committee to investigate the crimes committed by Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu against the interests of the party .
“Remember the viral video in which Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu made unhealthy statements about President Muhammadu Buhari, the leader of the party.
He was also found guilty of discrediting the image of the party, raising doubts about his leadership quality and loyalty to the party.
“The CECPC calls on party members to always show self-discipline and restraint by refraining from actions and expressions that are contrary to the interest of the party.”
SaharaReporters had reported that Adamu, in leaked audio, said he wished the deadly COVID-19 had killed President Muhammadu Buhari.
Adamu, who made the comment at a meeting of some APC leaders, said that if asked to choose between Buhari and the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, he would prefer the latter.
Sources revealed that high-profile party members at the meeting included former Adamawa state governor Muhammadu Bindow and the immediate past Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, the sitting member representing the Yola South constituency in the State House of Assembly. represents. , Kabiru Mijinyawa.
Other APC stalwarts present at the meeting are Yusha’u Adamu, who served as Bindow’s advisor, and Abubakar Sirimbai, who is a former chairman of the development area.
Sources familiar with the development said the meeting took place on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the residence of the former Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, under the Bindow administration, Mustapha Barkindo-Mustapha.
In the leaked audio clip, the APC chiefs were heard making hateful and derogatory remarks against Buhari without murmuring.
“I don’t know why the coronavirus didn’t kill Buhari. If the president is placed next to Osinbajo, I will choose Osinbajo and leave Buhari,” the president was heard lamenting in Fulfulde.
Also criticizing the president, Abubakar Sirimbai, he said it is better for the “cursed president” to die so Osinbajo can take power.
“It is better for the cursed president to die so that his deputy can take the reins of power. We sold our properties to help the president win the election. We bought underwear, braziers and cosmetics that we used to make it up. If I hate Osinbajo becoming president, may God not give me the privilege of living till the evening.
“Buhari has accomplished nothing in Adamawa for the past six years. APC in Adamawa thrives on Bindow’s legacies. We heard that Buhari was very happy when he heard that someone had gone bankrupt. We cannot worship him like others,” Sirimbai said.
Also, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mijinyawa, apparently added to what others said that “Osinbajo is ours.”
