Apple has announced that non-Mini or Max phones manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021 may have an issue where there is no sound from the earphones when making or receiving calls and the issue will be resolved for free as part of the new program service.

Apple in the pronunciation said only a “very small percentage” of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices may experience audio problems due to a component possibly failing on the receiver module.

For users of these phones, the company said there is absolutely nothing to worry about if they discover that the earpiece is not working properly. Apple’s No Noise Service Program covers devices for up to two years after purchase, while all iPhone 12s are still covered by Apple’s one-year warranty, giving the earphones an extra year of coverage.

Apple said, “If your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro has damage that prevents the repair from being completed, such as a cracked screen, that issue must be resolved prior to service. In some cases, there may be a charge for the additional repair. ”

The company also said phones “will be examined prior to service” to ensure they are eligible for the program. Prior to the service, users are advised to: back up their iPhone to iCloud or a computer.
