Kissing is one of the ways people express their love for each other. However, there are some viruses that can be transmitted through kisses on the lips.
This infection is caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV). There are two types of HSV that cause this infection: HSV1 and HSV2.
According to research, two types of herpes can affect people; Oral and genital. HSV1 mainly causes oral herpes while HSV2 causes genital herpes. There is no known cure for herpes, but there are medications to help treat the symptoms.
Besides having someone in bed, a common way to easily become infected with this virus is by kissing the lips. A small transfer of saliva from one infected person can cause the other person to develop herpes.

This is a common virus that can be transmitted when an infected person exchanges saliva with another person, or through other bodily fluids such as; urine, semen, blood and others. It is closely related to herpes and there is no known cure for it.
Symptoms of Cytomegalovirus
Here are some of the symptoms of cytomegalovirus
- Skin rash
- Swollen glands
- Muscle aches
- Sore throat
- Fever and many others.
Do not kiss people anyway because it is difficult to know who is infected with any of the viruses mentioned here, some people do not even know that they are infected with herpes or cytomegalovirus.
